One of a Kind Dollhouse

For Christmas last year, Santa built the kids a dollhouse. The really great thing about it was that it was so simply made that it would be easy peasy for us to decorate and customize it just the way we liked it. That Santa is a smart fellow (or maybe its his elves). However, its been on the back burner all year; one of those vague "wouldn't it be great...shouldn't we do something with this" type of tasks that are super elusive and somehow seem to evade our good intentions.

Last month Auntie Jessica happened to have some work in our neck of the woods and since she's a creative lass we knew it was the perfect time do get to it. B was super excited about the project and kept us to task. At one point we worried we would run out of time to get it done and she put her foot down, saying "this is why we flew her down here!" Maybe not the most accurate understanding of the situation, but it got her point across.

A quick trip to the fabric store and T and Auntie Jessica had the goods to get the party started. Of course B had a different idea about the decorating theme, so she reassigned the fabric to different rooms. In a stroke of genius they bought some tiny little dollhouse chalk boards and had B pick out interesting images from a stack of magazines -- voila! Dollhouse artwork.

B is super stoked about her "one of a kind" dollhouse and plans are already being made for further renovations. Probably the floors next. She would also like some curtains in the bedroom...for a little privacy.
