B has recently learned how the library works, and that if you are looking for a specific book or want to read about a particular subject then the librarian (or the library coach, as B calls her) can help you find what you want. About a month ago, the library coach helped B find books about flowers; one story (fiction) and one informative (non-fiction). Today she wanted to find books about the moon, the stars and the sun. The library coach pointed J and B in the direction of the non-fiction science books and B came home with an armful of educational books. We're actually learning quite a lot reading these ourselves!
Its so exciting to us that she has such a thirst for knowledge and that she is sitting still long enough to hear about some fairly complicated subjects. She got two books about space and T thought it was fun when they found converging information so that she could point back and forth between the books to reinforce concepts. When they were reading about Saturn in one of the books B remembered that the magic bus show talks about the planets and she was so excited! She's watching it right now (thank goodness we came across this dvd at a garage sale!) and loving it. Looks like we have a little scientist, or two. Its catching C's attention every once in awhile too (although he's busy with his new Woody and Bullseye toys...we let him open one gift tonight...thanks Gleffes! Its a hit!!).
