P.A.W.S.

We were very lucky to be able to tour the refuge belonging to the Performing Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) last weekend. Its taken us awhile to get the photos loaded from both cameras, that's why this is being posted so much later. A lady at J's work is on the board, or knows people on the board...so she organized a special tour for PDI employees and their families. So we drove about two and a half hours to San Andreas, CA. (Just a heads up if you're planning to make a trip out that way: don't stop in Linferd, CA for anything! You probably won't get what you need, and you'll leave very frustrated!)

We got to see Nick, an Asian elephant who is 16 years old.

We don't remember the names of these ladies, but all four are African elephants and they made some pretty funny vocalizations. We had lunch with them.

C got tired
By the time we got to the tigers we were all pretty tired. Right after T took this picture this guy tried to spray his audience. It actually smelled like perfume! The handler said that each tiger sprays a distinct scent; she said one of the tiger's spray smells like popcorn. Weird.
